Lamentus is dominated and torn apart by gang related turf warfare, which makes life dangerous for bystanders. The city government is bloated with corruption and misuse of power, Lamentus has steadily grown to become the capital of gang violence and political corruption.
The story focuses on a drug called The Chaos Pill. Once one swallows the pill, their body begins to mutate. However, they do not mutate randomly, but they change in a way which reflects their true inner nature. It is a combination of their moral standing, past deeds, and ambition. Bringing out who they truly are.
